Browser compatibility….pt1

Just running some tests on browser compatibility for eyephotography.co.uk before the next major updates on the site, as EMS is hosted by WordPress.com they take care of their own issues and a very good job they do too !

All files for the Eye Photography site are edited on an Apple Mac and uploaded with Transmit to the ftp servers, we currently do not have access to a PC for testing with other browsers and can only report on any Mac browser related issues at this time, be aware, it may make a difference how you have your browser set up.

If you are using a PC and come across any problems, please do not hesitate to report it.

The site is also best viewed with a monitor resolution of 1600 x 1200.

We are currently testing the main browsers first (as there are approx 129 different ones for Mac, don’t believe us….See here ; )

*All browsers in italics are still waiting to be tested.

(a) As the external link icon is not limited to one specific browser we think it’s just a glitch in the (WP) code or rather one of the plugins, as it worked until we recently updated some of the plugins for the site, under investigation.

[RESOLVED] It was the code after we changed the footer menus and not a plugin issue, now icon is showing on all pages and posts.

(b) As the only 2 browsers showing this formatting error are built on Mozilla’s code base it must be a CSS rendering problem, under investigation.

The site validates with XHTML and CSS, and is checked after each and any code change or update.

Part 2 will be for OSX Tiger 10.4.9
